Zafferana Etnea sorge sul versante orientale dell'Etna a 600m di altezza. La Piazza Umberto I è vivace luogo di incontro degli abitanti. Qui si apre il belvedere che dà sul sottostante giardino pubblico, con aiuole ben curate. La vista, specie nelle giornate terse, è magnifica: dal golfo di Siracusa fino alla Calabria.
