Description

Situato nell’omonima piazza, il Teatro presenta una facciata esterna che segue un disegno lineare e semplice, caratterizzato dall’uso di elementi decorativi in cemento o pietra serena. Costruito su progetto dell’architetto Vittorio Bellini, l’edificio rappresenta un esempio di teatro “all’italiana” e fu inaugurato nel 1833 con la rappresentazione di Anna Bolena di Donizetti.

A project launched in 2017 by the Directorate Generals for Film and Tourism of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (become Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities with legislative decree n. 86 of 12/07/2018, subsequently converted into Law 97/2018 with modifications which transferred all the functions and responsibilities relating to Tourism to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry), and run by Istituto Luce Cinecittà in partnership with the Italian Film Commissions Association.
